I think it’s fair to say I kind of have a thing for Mudslide cocktails. Maybe because they’re the first drink I ever really had. Back in high school. Before I knew anything about anything.

It was while I was on vacation with my boyfriend at the time and his entire extended family…and let’s just say the drinks were flowing. And let’s also just say that my 16 year old self was loving it!

And as much as I loved them then, I feel pretty much the same way now. Because they’re just so yummy. And easy. And fun! And because you can make about a million different variations!

And for St. Patrick’s Day? Why not mix it up with a little bit of Jameson!? You won’t regret it. I promise!

WHAT IS AN IRISH MUDSLIDE?

An Irish Mudslide is a fun and simple twist on the traditional mudslide recipe. While traditional mudslides are made with Baileys, Kahlua, and vodka, this Irish Mimosa recipe substitutes Jameson Irish Whiskey for the vodka and also adds just a splash of cream.

WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE IN THIS RECIPE?

  • Baileys Irish Cream
  • Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • Kahlua
  • Half & Half
  • Ice
  • Whipped cream

HOW TO MAKE IRISH MUDSLIDES:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker; shake well.
  2. Strain into a glass.
  3. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles (optional).
  4. Enjoy!

HOW DO YOU MAKE FROZEN MUDSLIDES?

The best way to turn this into a frozen drink is to add ice cream! Keep all proportions the same and add 2-3 scoops of ice cream, then blend together until thick and creamy.

You can also make frozen mudslides using ice. The end result will be less creamy and more slushy, but still delicious!

CAN YOU MAKE THIS DRINK BY THE PITCHER?

Yes! Mudslides are perfect by the pitcherful, and can be made in advance and refrigerated until ready to serve. Simply combine the Baileys, Jameson, Kahlua, and cream in a pitcher and serve over ice.
