Stuffed Pepperoni Pizza Bread is the ULTIMATE easy comfort food! Perfect for weeknight dinners, game days, or parties… and it doubles as a delicious appetizer!
Can you ever really go wrong with pizza? I think not. There’s literally nothing NOT to love about it! Between the crust and the sauce and the cheese and the toppings, it’s one of those things that everyone loves. And the possibilities for it are endless!
From Pizza Kabobs to Pizza Bowls to Pizza Stuffed Peppers, there are so many different ways to do pizza. And this Stuffed Pepperoni Pizza Bread is one of the BEST.
Not only because it’s stuffed with extra cheese, which is always a win in my book, but because it’s so incredibly easy to make! Which makes it ideal for busy weeknight dinners and one of my favorite appetizers to make for game day get togethers.
Probably best of all, it’s an easy recipe to customize according to your own individual tastes! (Check out my recipe variations ideas below!)
what you’ll need for this recipe
Bread – I used 1 loaf of French bread. French or Italian will work best for this recipe.
Pizza sauce – I used one jar (8 ounces) of pizza sauce.
Cheese – Since this bread is stuffed with cheese, I used 3 cups of shredded Italian cheese blend. Feel free to use a pizza blend or any variety you like.
Pepperoni – I added 1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices. Use regular sized slices or substitute your favorite pizza meat.
Seasonings – I used a simple seasoning combination of 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Use my Italian Seasoning blend for even more delicious flavor!
how to make stuffed pizza bread
Prep the bread. Cut the loaf of bread in half cross-wise. Slice off the top of each half and scoop out center of the bread, leaving approximately 1/2 inch around the edges.
Add the sauce and cheese. Spread the pizza sauce inside the hollowed out bread. Fill with cheese.
Top with the pepperoni and bake. Top with pepperoni slices and seasonings. Bake at 400° F for 10 minutes or until cheese is fully melted.
Recipe Variations
- Substitute cooked, crumbled Italian sausage for the pepperoni
- Add any of your favorite veggies, such as tomatoes, mushrooms or bell peppers
- Add sliced black or green olives
- Use any type of shredded cheese
- Top with grated parmesan or crushed red pepper flakes
- Make mini versions using sub rolls
