This Cherry Pie Jello is the perfect addition to any summer menu! It’s simple to make, with just 3 easy ingredients, and always a huge hit with adults and kid alike!
You know how there are some foods that immediately come to mind when you think about your childhood? Maybe because you ate them all the time, or because they were always on the holiday menu, or because you loved them so much that they still make you happy any time you think about them?
Well, if you were to ask me for my list, this Cherry Pie Jello would be at the top. Along with tacos and sub sandwiches and 7-layer salad and Miracle Whip Cake. Because it was a staple at every family function! Birthdays and holidays and baptisms and and graduation parties….you better believe this Cherry Pie Jello made an appearance at all of them.
And for good reason…because everyone always LOVED IT! It’s rich and creamy and honestly tastes a whole lot like cherry pie without the crust. Which makes sense….because it’s made with cherry pie filling. And to be perfectly honest, it doesn’t even need the whipped cream to be completely delicious. (But extra whipped cream is never a bad idea…am I right?)
Now, I have to admit….this Cherry Pie Jello isn’t nearly as much of a staple at our house as it was when I was growing up. But I have the feeling that’s about to change, because I made it for my kids recently…..and they loved it! They couldn’t get enough of it! And, no surprise, they’ve been begging for it ever since. Because it’s that kind of recipe. The kind you want to eat again and again and again. And the best news of all? This Cherry Pie Jello couldn’t be easier to make. No wonder it was such a childhood staple! And….I’m so glad I rediscovered it. Now let’s dig in!

This Cherry Pie Jello looks so good! Since loosing 90 lbs. and not clinically diabetic anymore, I try to eliminate as much sugar as possible. I will try to make it with Knox gelatin & tart cherry juice (helps with gout!) and definitely with whipped cream. My stomach does not tolerate cool whip. Showed your pictures to my husband and cherry pie filling is now on our shopping list!
