Level up your sandwich game with this Honey Mustard Ham & Cheese! Loaded with homemade honey mustard, poppy seeds, sliced ham, and Swiss cheese, this sandwich is proof that sometimes simple is best!

I know, I know. Ham & cheese has been done a million times. And truly… there are a million different ways to do it! From Ham & Cheese Sliders to Open Face Ham & Cheese Melts to Hawaiian Ham & Cheese Sandwiches, every one is just a little bit different. And every one is completely delicious!
But these Honey Mustard Ham & Cheese Sandwiches are more than just delicious… they’re absolute perfection. Between the ciabatta and the ham and the melted cheese and the honey mustard, there’s nothing that could make them any better. They’re perfectly simple. And simply perfect!
They’re delicious any time of day (add an egg for breakfast!) and they pair well with fruit salads, lettuce salads, or any of your favorite sides. Check out my ideas down below!

what you’ll need for this recipe
Bread – I used ciabatta rolls for these sandwiches, but feel free to use any rolls you have on hand. Kaiser, hard rolls, poppy seed rolls, or potato rolls would all work well.
Ham – Ham is one of the main ingredients in the sandwiches. I used sliced deli ham, but pulled ham or leftover Easter ham would also be delicious!
Cheese – Cheese pairs with the ham and melts in the oven, creating a deliciously gooey combination. The recipe calls for Swiss cheese, but feel free to substitute provolone, monterey jack, mozzarella, or even cheddar.
Honey mustard – Homemade honey mustard makes the perfect sauce and is made with just 3 ingredients. I also added some poppy seeds directly to the sauce.
Poppy seeds/butter – Melted butter + poppy seeds

how to make honey mustard ham & cheese sandwiches
Make the honey mustard. In a small bowl, combine the mayo, mustard, honey & poppy seeds. Mix well.
Assemble the sandwiches. Slice the rolls in half lengthwise; divide the ham and cheese evenly among the rolls and top with honey mustard.
Brush the tops & bake. Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter & poppy seeds. Bake 10-15 min.
