Eggnog Mudslides are a festive, delicious twist on a classic. Made with vodka, coffee liqueur, and creamy eggnog, they’re the perfect cocktail for all your holiday parties!
Serious question: Can you ever go wrong with mudslides? They’re sweet and creamy and basically like dessert in a glass. With alcohol! In other words… yes, please!
I like them frozen or on the rocks, with whipped cream or without, and I especially love experimenting with different flavor combinations. Like Irish Mudslides, Pumpkin Spice Mudslides or these oh so delicious Mudslide Parfaits. One is better than the next… which just proves that you really can’t go wrong!
And these Eggnog Mudslides are no exception. They combine all the flavors of traditional mudslides with everyone’s favorite Christmas drink: eggnog! Which is a flavor match made in heaven. Garnish them with whipped cream, ground nutmeg and a cinnamon stick and watch your holidays become instantly more delicious, festive, and fun!
what you’ll need for this recipe
Vodka – I started with 1 part vodka. I used Tito’s, but feel free to use any brand you enjoy.
Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur – I added 1 part Kahlúa, but again, feel free to substitute any coffee liqueur.
Eggnog – I used 2 parts eggnog. Full fat or low fat will both work (I used full fat).
Garnishes – I added whipped cream, ground nutmeg, and a cinnamon stick as garnishes. Feel free to use chocolate shavings, cinnamon, or any of your favorite garnishes.
how to make eggnog mudslides
Combine ingredients. Combine vodka, Kahlua and eggnog in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake & strain. Shake well, then pour the mixture into glasses.
Garnish. Garnish each drink with whipped cream, ground nutmeg, and a cinnamon stick.
Make Ahead Tip
There are 2 easy ways to make Frozen Mudslides. The first is by adding crushed ice and blending in a high powered blender until smooth. The second is by adding vanilla ice cream and blending in a high powered blender until smooth.
Recipe Variations
- Use white or spiced rum instead of vodka
- Add vanilla ice cream and mix it in a blender
- Add a splash of Baileys
- Drizzle chocolate syrup in the glass before pouring
- Garnish with chocolate shavings instead of nutmeg and cinnamon
- Adjust the proportions according to your preferences
- Add different flavor syrups to suit your tastes or to celebrate a specific occasion

When a recipe says “part” It means whatever you want it to mean. If you want to make a bigger recipe then it can mean a cup. You can customize it to as much or as little as you want to make.
Shaun says
Can you tell me what the measurement is for one part or the actual amount you used for this recipe?

I recently made eggnog for the first time and I liked it but was kind of surprised at how bland it was. I think I would absolutely love this twist on it though!

I was reading other people’s comments about “what does one part mean?”. It means if you make one cocktail one part does equal one shot. If you want to make a patch for a crowd, one part would mean if you use 1 cup vodka,1 cup kaluaha then use2 cups eggnog . What ever amount you use for eggnog use half of each liquer. 4 cups eggnog,2 cups vodka and 2 cups kaluaha etc Also just make it to taste.
Linda says
Thank you. Making it for more than one person was just what I was looking for!

Lordy, lordy…. how difficult, obsessive compulsive must some folks be?
You’re recipe is awesome, easy to understand, & concise. I am so sick of all the “ninnys” in the world wanting to hear themselves more than need be.

I’m going grocery shopping today, and I’m definitely getting some Kahlua so I can make this! I mean… I have some whipped cream in the fridge that needs to get used, so…

Jan says
Any reason a recipe that has 3 ingredients which you simply mix needs 4 photos of the drink? It tasted great, but why all the filler photos and comments?
Gail says
My sister -n-law and I enjoyed this drink on Christmas eve. I enjoyed it so much I had it again on Christmas day. I added a little more eggnog in my drink. My sister -n-law likes more alcohol in hers and kept with the recipe.
