This Vanilla Almond Latte combines the classic flavors of vanilla and almond in a delicious hot drink that’s easy to make. This 5 minute latte will rival your neighborhood coffee shop!
I’m always amazed by the lengths I will go to just to avoid having to leave the house. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not a complete hermit. I still leave the house to take Nora to school, and to do the grocery shopping, and for doctor’s appointments and other necessary tasks. But beyond that, if it doesn’t NEED to be done, I’m probably not doing it.
To be fair, it is winter. And there’s no doubt that my desire to stay home increases dramatically at this time of year. Not to mention the kids I would have to cart around with me, the fact that there’s always so much to get done around the house, or the reality that I prefer to be cozied up on the couch under a blanket, thankyouverymuch!
Of course, there are certain adjustments that need to be made if you don’t plan to leave the house much. You need to convince people to come to you (so as to avoid becoming completely antisocial), and even more importantly, you need to find substitutions for some of your favorites. I used to love the idea of stopping for my favorite coffee or latte…..and I still do! The only difference? Now I just make it at home!
Seriously….if you’ve never made a fancy coffee drink at home, I’m here to tell you how EASY it is. For this latte, I combined vanilla syrup with almond extract, steamed milk, strong coffee, and a few finishing touches. And you know what? It was amazing! The perfect combination of flavors, made just for me. I love the fact that I can experiment with being a barista at home, and that I never even have to leave my house to get my favorite coffee drink.

A woman after my own heart. I’d much rather stay home curled under a blanket too! That’s definitely to blame on the winter months too since I’m a southerner living in snow-swept Michigan at the moment!
