Happy November! (Can you believe it….November??) I hope you all had a fun Halloween. Ours included a school party, a jack-o-lantern pizza for dinner, trick or treating, candy, more candy, and lots of rain. Let’s start with the school party. It was a success! I volunteered, along with another mom, to plan the whole thing. Which doesn’t sound like a big deal….right? Unless you’re stubborn, like me, and instead of looking for cute ideas on Pinterest you decide you need to come up with all the cute ideas, yourself.
So you spend hours at Michael’s looking for inspiration in the craft supplies and days hemming and hawing over the different ideas swimming around in your head. And when you finally decide on something, you realize you need to make yet another trip to Michael’s for the supplies you actually need….and then you need to make the sample crafts and put the games together….so when the party is over and it was a success, you breathe a huge sigh of relief. I know. Welcome to my world.
Next…..the rain. It has seriously been gray and rainy here for the entire week, and quite frankly, I’m sick of it! So when the forecast for trick-or-treating called for even more rain, I was beside myself. Since when does trick-or-treating get rained out? Snow, sure. Wind, a given. Cold weather, without a doubt. But rain!? Unheard of! Luckily, I knew that my girls would never let rain stand in their way of candy…and I was right! Even better? Jorden was the one who willingly suffered through it while I stayed home and greeted trick or treaters. We weren’t about have our Halloween ruined by a little rain! And by we, I mostly mean the rest of my family.

These look delicious Cathy! I love the chocolate and orange combo. We were fortunate last night – the rain only started later in the night. Glad it didn’t get you down though! 🙂

So good! The orange-chocolate combination brings back memories of chocolate coated orange sticks my mom used to buy for us. It was a special treat. ☺

Sounds like you’ve been a busy girl! Glad the school party came together nicely. Sorry about the gray and rain! I remember 2 years ago we had a freak SNOW storm and our Halloween was cancelled so we were out an about on Nov 1st, weird. This recipe looks delish! Better than candy – but banana Laffy Taffy? ewwwww…..just saying, but you are expecting so, makes sense! 😉
